"quote unquote"

i like Grey's Anatomy. no, i ADORE Grey's Anatomy. this is not someone speaking as a fan. this is someone speaking as a devotee. *chuckles..

main character doing voice-overs. that is what i notice about American shows and sitcoms. u know..the murdered lady in Desperate Housewives, the Gossip Girl in GG(xoxo, Gossip Girl), and Meredith Grey of Grey's Anatomy, et al...it's good to have those, coz i still find it hard to fathom what they're trying to say. and i want to share to all of you some of Meredith's voice-overs/realizations/quotes.

here goes:

"At some point, you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out. They fence you in. Life is messy. That's how we're made. So, you can waste your lives drawing lines. Or you can live your life crossing them. But there are some lines... that are way too dangerous to cross. But here's one thing i know; the view from the other side is spectacular."
--**life is messy. true. maybe that's y i keep on blogging coz life is indeed, messy. i wanted something where i can freely scribble the mess of my life. nay lng, du ga layu na ta haw..hehe! anu ang point ko man? du kabudlay i-paraphrase ni! basta, life is full of lines! haha! u know, wrinkles.

"You know how when you were a little kid and you believed in fairy tales, that fantasy of what your life would be, white dress, prince charming who would carry you away to a castle on a hill. You would lie in bed at night and close your eyes and you had complete and utter faith. Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Prince Charming, they were so close you could taste them, but eventually you grow up, one day you open your eyes and the fairy tale disappears. Most people turn to the things and people they can trust. But the thing is its hard to let go of that fairy tale entirely cause almost everyone has that smallest bit of hope, of faith, that one day they will open their eyes and it will come true."
--**an author once said that fairy tales don't teach us dragons exist. dragons are already there breathing fires on their mouth and nostrils. what fairy tales teach us is how to kill those dragons. my own fantasy? to infiltrate willy wonka's chocolate factory!!! yum!

"At the end of the day faith is a funny thing. It turns up when you don't really expect it. Its like one day you realize that the fairy tale may be slightly different than you dreamed. The castle, well, it may not be a castle. And its not so important happy ever after, just that its happy right now. See once in a while, once in a blue moon, people will surprise you , and once in a while people may even take your breath away."
--**uh oh. life isn't about the number of years we take. rather, it's all about the moments that take our breath away. indeed, the expected is what keeps us going...and the unexpected is what changes our lives.

"A couple of hundred years ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world the secret of his success. Never leave that till tomorrow, he said, which you can do today. This is the man who discovered electricity. You think more people would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? The early bird catches the worm. A stitch in time saves nine. He who hesitates is lost. We can't pretend we hadn't been told. We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers, heard our grandparents warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin really meant. That knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beat the hell out of never trying."
--**i have my own set of fears(spiders!!!). and i know u have yours too. we all have, actually. i think what we all need is the belief that you can overcome them. if you can't overcome them, then undercome them. MJ(michael jordan, not michael jackson) shouldn't have been the best basketball player had he not miss 2000+ shots. paul ehrlich couldn't have discovered Salvarsan if he did not fail for 605 times. salvarsan 606( i guess we all know that). great men and women didn't just come down to history without trying, and consequently failing. u see, self-belief is all that matters. go out. the world is yours to explore. make mistakes. take a few bold moves(MOVES. not MOVIES. okey? haha!). because people who always try are those people you always see winning. self-belief.

"Pain, you just have to ride it out, hope it goes away on its own, hope the wound that caused it heals. There are no solutions, no easy answers, you just breath deep and wait for it to subside. Most of the time pain can be managed but sometimes the pain gets you where you least expect it. Hits way below the belt and doesn't let up. Pain, you just have to fight through, because the truth is you can't outrun it and life always makes more. Look at this. Everybody wants a life without pain. And what does it get you? She needs to be on a poster somewhere to remind people, pain is there for a reason."
--**i think some pain are self-inflicting. if you're in pain, and if u want to cry it out, then cry it out. if u want to break the neck of the one who caused you this, then break it! haha! joke lng. pain. a natural thing. there's no sense on dwelling on things that hurt us. as i said, pain can sometimes be self-inflicting. smile lng bla! nu gd na man..remember; what doesn't kill us makes us a better person. and what makes us happy makes us a better person man japun...HAHAHA! t0inx!

"Maybe we're not supposed to be happy. Maybe gratitude has nothing to do with joy. Maybe being grateful means recognizing what you have for what it is. Appreciating small victories. Admiring the struggle it takes simply to be human. Maybe we're thankful for the familiar things we know. And maybe we're thankful for the things we'll never know. At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing is reason enough to celebrate."
--**yes, being alive is enough reason to be thankful. live. love. laugh. and u'll be more thankful. =))

"At the end of the day, there are some things you just can't help but talk about. Some things we just don't want to hear, and some things we say because we can't be silent any longer. Some things are more than what you say, they're what you do. Some things you say cause there's no other choice. Some things you keep to yourself. And not too often, but every now and then, some things simply speak for themselves."
--**whew! the quote says it all. =)

"Communication. It's the first thing we really learn in life. Funny thing is, once we grow up, learn our words and really start talking the harder it becomes to know what to say. Or how to ask for what we really need."
--**true. some things are just hard to utter. like...ma'am Corpus pwede namun malantaw grades namun(especially sa midterm!!! structural formulas are killing me)? hehe!

"At the end of the day, when it comes down to it, all we really want is to be close to somebody. So this thing, where we all keep our distance and pretend not to care about each other, is usually a load of bull. So we pick and choose who we want to remain close to, and once we've chosen those people, we tend to stick close by. No matter how much we hurt them, the people that are still with you at the end of the day - those are the ones worth keeping. And sure, sometimes close can be too close. But sometimes, that invasion of personal space, it can be exactly what you need."
--**maybe that's why we have bestfriends. coz we can't do it all on our own. we just can't. we need someone who could lift us up. someone who simply listens to us. someone to tell our failures and dreams to. and someone to drink with. =)

no man is an island. we all need somebody to lean on...yes, those are lyrics =) there are times when we want to be alone but mostly, life will be fun if we share it with others.

life is full of twists and turns. and at some point in time, we may bump to something which we least expect to. but that's life. you just have to take it easy, play it smooth, live it to the fullest and savor each moment.

'PAIN?' could you imagine life without pain? its boring!senseless! pain is present para may thrill man ang life naton. isn't it?

lastly, just like what ma'am remi has said, "no man is an island" pain is not only for you to bear, that's why you have friends, your best buddies where you can share your burden with. **na! di mag dinalok! share it.
